About E-Services

The eTEN programme of the European Commission has changed. It has been a key component of the development of the forthcoming Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Policy Support Programme of the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP) of the European Commission. It is now evolving and progressing in its objectives to address the new CIP challenges. As it does so, the level of awareness and recognition of its current projects must be stimulated and developed amongst its targeted audience - European companies, public administration and organisations involved in the deployment of new services and applications based on telecommunication networks.

Direct support by the eServices Europa support service is foreseen - over the next three years - to a selected number of eTEN past and present projects; providing training, dissemination, marketing and networking support and facilitating contacts with administrations. Some other projects will also be able to benefit from the services indirectly, once the relevant contacts, support material, methodology have been created. Projects will be selected each year based on a Call for Expression of Interest and a number of qualitative analyses. The eServices Europa web portal includes a specific area for the directly supported projects (eServices Projects).

The project will also provide support to the National Contact Point network since only a strong CIP NCPs network, perfectly tuned in with the new and expanded objectives of the project and having received the most adequate training can ensure the necessary mobilisation of local actors around the new challenges brought about by the CIP. This will be ensured by providing them with marketing, dissemination and networking tools. For more information about the NCP network, go to the ICT Policy Support Programme National Contact Points section.

This web portal includes a section reserved to other stakeholders, such as regions, governments, industry, etc.., with interest in the eTEN field, its projects and the NCPs network. This section contains expressions of interest, a forum and news. To find out more about it go to Stakeholders.
